First time there and I had a blast. Was expecting live jazz but unfortunately they were taking a break for the Christmas season. The bartender making drinks was enough entertainment for the night. I am new to liquor so the bartender, Eric, recommender a drink and it was amazing. Honestly can't remember the name, but something with gin. Will recommend to everyone and truth be told, planning on hosting my friend's birthday there.

I went while it was converted into a Christmas pop up bar, and it was awesome. There were multiple rooms with different themes, with a ski slope style sign providing directions to each room. The Christmas themed cocktails were really good, including a Snowball Old Fashioned where the ice was an actual snowball.

Really nice place in a dimly lit setting. Seating is regulated and on busier nights you will have to wait. Drinks are all top notch quality and you get what you pay for here. The Roosevelt Old Fashioned was perfect. No loud music or college crowd here. I would say the avg age of the clientele is upper 30-mid 40s. This is a place where you take your time and enjoy the company.

Superb spot - decor is great (love to drink a good cocktail under the imposing gaze of Teddy Roosevelt). Go with friends, bring a book and post up at the bar, but stay to absorb the atmosphere. Upscale, yet still Austin. Relaxed, but refined. Martinis are expertly made - however you like them.

Excellent Cocktails! Extensive menu. And superb staff. I'll be suggesting this when it is my turn to choose a place for after work meet up with my colleagues.

Lived in Austin for 9 years and this was my first time! Super relaxed, kinda high end, fun. Probably 40 different hand crafted cocktails to choose from. My friend got a traditional rum drink called the zombie. It was lit on fire and served in a faux skull. Cool. Be warned...it could get a bit pricey, but worth it.

Super nice cocktail lounge. The staff is great, drinks were awesome. Unfortunately we had a long wait time for them. They were kind in bringing us alternatives while we waited for our order. Will definitely try again and hope for better experience.

Small but nice..a bit dark but that is the vibe they are going for. Nice mocktails....

Love, Love, Love coming here. Cozy little place with great snacks to go with their huge cocktail menu. You can find just about anything you can dream of on the menu, and if that's too much for you, just tell your waiter / bartender what kind of drinks you're into and they'll match you up with something you'll love.

Neat bar and fabulous location! I did end up with. $60 GLASS of wine that I did not Order but paid for, but it was a crazy night! Classy abeyance and a cool back room for live music

Recommend bringing the significant other’s parents or friends with a variety of preferences when it comes to cocktails. Menu is set up by era and they’re happy to walk you through the menu based on your tastes or craft something special for you. Plan on making a reservation and dressing more elevated casual for sure.

A must for people who are visiting out of town. GREAT place to go and have an assortment of tasty drinks, the bartenders are super knowledgeable and will walk you through what you should order. Super friendly staff, the atmosphere is perfect. We hung out upstairs with a group of friends and it was perfect spot to end our night.

Had a fantastic time at this great cocktail bar. There concept is great with drinks broken up by the era they first came about, making for a little education along with my beverages. In addition they have an inventive craft bar menu. I highly recommend the Lonesome Dove. The bartenders were friendly and enjoyed chatting about the drinks. Great lively music as well.

I selected this venue to celebrate my 50th. From the catering up the food, to all of my yearly pictures being displayed on the wall, To J. and Matt two Great bartenders, we had everything went off without a hitch. Frank was the consummate coordinator for the party and I would never hesitate to call him again to re-book the Roosevelt room. The space was adequate for a group of people(28) and the pool table came in handy for everyone to use. I would definitely come into the Roosevelt room if you are looking to book for private events. Well done guys A class service. Many more memories made that evening!

The cocktails here are always great and the bartenders are always friendly! One of my favorites is the Blood and Sand. The place is pretty upscale with a nice interior and a more "professional" crowd. There's a great mood in the room all the time, and it's a relaxing place to grab a drink with a friend. The prices are a little high ≈$10 a drink. The good thing is they have a happy hour menu with some good options! Definitely a must go

Great cocktails and the staff really knows what they're talking about. If you need a well prepared drink that tastes great you should check them out.

I have been to Roosevelt Room 5 times now and my opinion is that it continues to improve -- which is impressive given that it's already excellent. The cocktails are masterpieces and the list is diverse and creative. It takes you through the history of cocktails as well as adding a few of their own and some weekly specials. Everything is well balanced and the owner and GM are everywhere and making sure people are taken care of and systems are quality controlled. It's impressive as I really thought this place might tank since it's so big and there is a lot of competition in this space. Their success is a testament to the management and owners. The space has added a lot of thoughtful decor pieces as they have settled in and it makes the space feel cozy, which is surprising given its size. I strongly suggest checking it out -- but either eat before or after as they don't have many food offerings. One thing I should add is that most cocktail bars this size would be a lesson in frustration management as drinks this complex take a while to make. They have built a system which seems to accommodate for that as the servers work with bartenders on pacing to make it so new table orders are expedited and waitresses hit tables prior to there being an empty glass so your next drink arrives in a timely fashion. The wait staff is skilled and knowledgeable, which is also a feat. Updated review: We made a reservation and I thought we had confirmed it online by making the size of our party smaller. We arrived at the bar to be told they had given our table to someone else and we were 43 minutes late. I showed them the reservation proving we were actually 13 minutes late due to rain and difficulty parking. They hostess rudely told us she would have to tell the people she gave our seats to that they could no longer sit there — as it to blame us for her mistake. Never did she acknowledge that she made a mistake. Then they told us we had to leave by 9:45 as there was a party coming who would take our spot. We agreed to this. At 9:45 the place was almost empty and there wasn’t a line outside. I don’t see why they didn’t offer to move us to another spot or let us stay where we were as unless a wedding party was relocating there, they night was going to be a dive for them. The owner was nowhere to be seen. I like The Roosevelt Room but all of this struck me as pretentious and like it totally missed the point of what people pay for here — a high end customer experience. I know I won’t be back soon.

This place is great! When we visited, they were totally decked out for Christmas, including a Christmas movie showing on the big screen, and delicious Christmas themed drinks. I'd like to try it again when it's not Christmas as well!

This place is great. Love the way the broke down their cocktail list, but even better the bar tenders know exactly what they are doing. I only had to mention how I like my cocktails and what my spirit of choice is and they were up to the challenge. I've been there a couple of times now and always treated with great care and attention. The scene is great, it was overall good for a conversation with enough to stimulate fun. The wall has some fun movies playing is silence (life aquatic last time I was there) and when I went on a Thursday, an awesome jazz band ended the night for us. Definitely recommend.

There are no bartenders here ladies and gents, just mixologists. Man are they awesome. Each of them working there have the knowledge and passion to make you an outstanding drink every time. Not sure what you want, ask. Don't see something on their extensive menu you like let them know your palette and they will craft one for you. Mafia style booths along with seating at the bar. You also get seated upon entry which I feel is a nice touch. They have an upstairs as well. They play old movies as well. It feels as if you stepped back in time to a 1920s lounge. It's my wife's favorite place to drink in Austin, and she's a tough critic.

Justin Lavenue, Bombay Sapphire's 2015 Most Imaginative Bartender of North America, has outdone himself with this stylish Austin lounge. The bartenders are incredibly imaginative and serve up some incredible cocktails. O matter your favorite spirit, they'll create something that will blow you away. Given it's location, acclaimed owner, and great atmosphere, The Roosevelt Room can get busy on weekends, but don't let that make you miss out in one of the best bars in Austin!

Don’t go here for your run of the mill whiskey cokes, order a menu cocktail or tell them some flavors or drinks you like. They will make you outstanding drinks. Usually need a reservation or to wait. All the staff is pretty accommodating and easy to deal with! Great atmosphere for an after dinner drink!

There is so much to like about this place. If I had to throw in a negative, it would be that their drinks are quite expensive compared to other places. They're worth it, in my opinion, but it's something people should probably aware of. My favorite feature of the place is the knowledge of the bartenders, who are always willing to share expertise when you ask for it. I've discovered a lot of drinks I never would have tried had it not been for this place. Their food choices are limited, but quality. Interior looks great and smells great. Highly recommended, especially for starting off a fun Saturday night.

Great atmosphere. Sorta jazz meets apeak-easy. The bartenders are top-notch and know their mixes backwards and forwards and are friendly and informative. Not for the rowdy crowd but great for a nice night out with friends.

Love this bar. Some of the best cocktails you can have in austin are made here. Dark but cozy atmosphere. If you’re downtown it’s worth a stop.

Went here for my birthday....such a cool experience! The ambience was spot on! I recommend calling in advance and making reservations. They have a lovely menu but by the time we got there on a Saturday night they were down to two items. The tomato soup and the cheesecake. We passed as these two items don't sound like they pair very well. But if their food is anything like their cocktails, then I can imagine it's all delicious. The drinks were so outstanding. The combination of flavors sound really strange as you read the ingredients, but once you taste them, it's impressive to see how well they compliment each other. I really enjoyed sitting at the bar and getting to watch the bartender prepare the different drinks. It's quite the performance! And for the quality drinks they serve, the prices are good. I'm really looking forward to going back!

A low light cocktail bar if you want to impress that special lady friend of yours this is a solid choice! One of the few places I'd recommend sitting at the bar; it's hard to describe but if you can imagine a granite counter top but with a light coming from underneath it combined with the low light of the venue really makes it pop out! The bar stuff is a little rushed due to the popularity of the place but their still extremely polite and I can say the bartender Matt really knew the menu. Check this place out, it nails ambience for romantic evenings.

The drinks are wonderful. The bartenders really put on a show here. There is a spotlight where they prepare the drinks, and it makes everything more dramatic. There is just enough light and the decor is like an eclectic cigar room.

Had the pleasure of visiting Roosevelt on a trip to Austin. I've been to some of the "best" cocktail bars in DC, Chicago, SF, etc. Roosevelt is right up there. Bartenders we're amazingly knowledgeable. Similar to a high end sushi counter, we just told them what we liked and they came up with incredible drinks based on those preferences. Will come here every time I'm in Austin. Perfect experience.

This was a fun cocktail bar with way too many options. Seriously - be prepared. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable and really take pride in their craft. Fun place!

The Roosevelt Room is top notch for high end cocktails. I love the depth of the menu and how it's organized by decade/era. The bartenders really know their stuff and can of course make you anything that you want. The Roosevelt Room has basically become the standard by which we measure all other bars. "Was it good?" "Sure, but not as good as The Roosevelt Room."

Really great place for delicious cocktails. Menu is organized by era with a ton to choose from, and the waitstaff and bartenders are very accommodating with suggestions or custom drinks. To my knowledge, there is no dress code; however, you may look out of place in sweats. Definitely recommend this place for a low-key night out, date or good conversation.

What a selection. Tons of drinks from multiple eras. It's also has a very cool vibe and very knowledgeable bartenders. There's a reason they take reservations.

Was only in town for a couple of days with my girlfriend and was looking for something unique to do. We made reservations here. After having a transportation issue with out taxi from the hotel we called and they were incredibly understanding and accomadating. We arrived to a very friendly staff and fantastic atmosphere. Seated at the bar we were able to see all of our drinks plus any other drinks being made. Every drink we had was absolutely phenomenal and made by extremely knowledgeable cocktail purists who've essentially elevated this to an art form. Sharon and Eric took great care of us and were very helpful in helping us to choose from the large number of great drinks on the menu, as well as creating their own to cater to specifically what we wanted. Incredible. Experience and an absolute must for anyone to check out whether you are living here or just visiting!!!!!

Awesome bar. They seat you and have great bartenders. No wait for drinks and the bartenders will create whatever you ask. Great experience!

Roosevelt room is one of the coolest cocktail bars in Austin. Their drinks are organized on the menu according to the year they were created. I highly recommend coming for happy hour because the drinks are half price. Be prepared to wait on Friday or Saturday nights, especially if you come with a large party.

This place is awesome. Not for the vibe but for the quality of the drinks. The ganja ninja Apple cider was out of this world!! The Negro was delish, although because they make their own sweet vermouth, it didn't taste like a true Negro. They make their own ginger beer so the Moscow mules are just amazing. The service is great. I just didn't like how they have a pool table in there, doesn't seem to match the vibe with all the hand crafted drinks you know? But I get it, people love to drink and play pool! thanks for the awesome drinks!

Loved the vibe and artisan cocktails. Such a low key romantic vibe. Multiple large booths with red velvet and a few small tables around a large bar. You can make reservations or just walk in. Looks like a bar but everyone sits down not meant to be a club but it can have that vibe. They do offer small plates cheese and bread. I reccomend going during happy hour to cut down the pricey drinks. Ask for Frank he's the best!
